i weep for my land, it's pride and beauty turned to shame
its leaders pointing fingers looking for who to blame
its streets becoming zone of war and terror
i wish i could just wake up form this dream filled with horror
my land was once decorated with peace, joy and colors
its stars shine and its athletes branded with honor
talk of food and culture, we had it all.
but our pride wasn't going unnoticed we were heading for a fall
i remember the children of our land, all smiles when they play and run around
pulling stunts and acrobatics as they jump up and down
going to free school, innocent and willing to learn and be educated
but little did they know, they will become frustrated.
our youths strong, courageous and ready to work
females and males unwilling to be used as thugs
we were proud of them, for what they had accomplished
anywhere they are our fame was established.
our land with crops, fruit and vegetables was vastly cultivated,
its seas and rivers with species of fishes populated
our fishermen and farmers yield was great, they were motivated
anywhere in the world our products were highly rated
we were a peace loving people, life is what we hoped for
we had dreams, and worked for our comfort
we were happy and never had strife when we laid in our beds
neither did we plot ways to steal and kill in our heads
Now our land has been corrupted
with pride and greed our morals has been rejected
our lands and seas laid waste and polluted
and rich culture and resources has been exploited
our streets now bare with children afraid to come out
with crime and villainy circulating round about
schools empty with classrooms abandoned
like kings they saw no need for a failing kingdom
our youths now hide their face in ridicule
their honor reduced to a size of molecules
exploited as vices and thugs for the devil
they wanted to retain their lost pride and ego
our land once polluted we surely get back its glory
land with plenty, nectar, songs and honey
our children back to classroom, youths with blessing
fishes in seas, streets with security, dancing and singing
its leaders pointing fingers looking for who to blame
its streets becoming zone of war and terror
i wish i could just wake up form this dream filled with horror
my land was once decorated with peace, joy and colors
